“You’re Stupid for getting married so young”, “Aren’t you afraid you’re rushing things?”, “Why would you ruin your life by getting married so young?” These were just some of the things I was told after my now husband and I got engaged.
I am a full time college student and I was thrilled to be engaged. However, some professors thought I was throwing my life away when they found out that I was engaged. One professor even believed that I was going to drop out of school even though I was almost completely finished with my Education Degree. My now husband and I got engaged on November 5th, 2017. We’d been together almost a year and we knew we were suppose to be together, pretty early on in our relationship. We’d dated prior in middle school and had always been friends so we knew each other pretty well.
June 23,2018 I went from a Miss. to a Mrs. I went from a fiancée who loved her Fiancé’s son to a legal Step-mother and it was one of the best days of my life. The summer we got married I passed my Case exam and then in August of that year, I got into the Teacher’s Education Program and became a 4.0 student.
People don’t really understand why I chose to be a full-time college Student, wife, and step mom so early in life and my answer to them is, this is my own plan that I have created, it’s my adventure, and I wouldn’t want to tackle this adventure with anyone other than my husband and my stepson. I’m the best version of myself that I’ve ever been.
I got marred and became a stepmother at twenty and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
